About These Terms
These Terms of Use explain the rules for using julieannewriter.co.uk.
Who Is Responsible for the Website
I operate the website under the name Julie-Anne Writer.
Global Music Discovery (GMD) is my music editorial and promotion project on this website. It is not a separate company or legal entity.
Compassion Global Alliance Ltd (CGA) is a separate company responsible for its section of the website and the activities it carries out.
Using the Website
You may use the website only for lawful purposes.
You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its hosting systems or data
- Introduce malware or other harmful code
- Interfere with the website’s operation or security
- Use the website or information obtained from it to harass, threaten or defraud another person, or to impersonate them for a fraudulent or abusive purpose
Access may be restricted where reasonably necessary to prevent or respond to misuse of the website.
General Information
Website content is provided for general awareness and editorial purposes. Reasonable care is taken when preparing it, but it may become outdated or not reflect individual circumstances.
It is not a substitute for legal, financial, medical, housing or other specialist advice. Consult a suitably qualified professional before making important decisions.
Compassion Global Alliance Assistance
CGA considers each request individually and may offer practical support, advocacy, information or referrals.
Decisions about accepting, continuing, limiting or ending CGA’s involvement will take account of:
- The nature and urgency of the circumstances
- Whether essential information and evidence have been provided and can be verified
- The consent and cooperation of the person concerned
- CGA’s role, capacity, resources and available funding
- Whether suitable local organisations or qualified professionals can be identified
- Whether communication connected with the request becomes threatening or abusive
- Whether CGA’s involvement would be lawful, appropriate and safe
Submitting a request does not create an entitlement to support. CGA cannot guarantee that it will provide financial assistance, secure accommodation, obtain legal advice or representation, arrange a successful referral or achieve any particular outcome.
CGA Fundraising Appeals
CGA is not a registered charity and cannot currently claim Gift Aid on contributions.
Before accepting contributions, each appeal page will state:
- Who or what the funds will support
- The purpose for which the money is being raised
- Any target and closing date
- Any fees or expenses that will be deducted
- How payments will be made, including whether funds may be paid directly to a verified landlord, supplier, organisation or other recipient
- What will happen if the target is not reached, more is raised than required or the stated purpose cannot be achieved
Where funds are being raised for a named person or family, the page will clearly state that it is a personal-cause appeal and not a charity appeal.
Before publishing an appeal, CGA will obtain clear and informed permission from each identifiable person whose story, image or personal information will be published. CGA will also take reasonable steps to verify the essential facts, intended purpose, recipient and payment arrangements.
CGA will administer contributions in accordance with the terms published on the relevant appeal page.
Music and Editorial Content
Reviews, interviews, articles, concert experiences and personal reflections express the views or experiences of the named writer or contributor, unless stated otherwise.
GMD independently chooses the artists, music and performances it genuinely values. Coverage is never provided in return for payment, gifts, complimentary tickets or other benefits from an artist, promoter, venue or representative.
Featuring an artist does not imply endorsement of their personal views or conduct.
GMD does not guarantee that publication will result in sales, bookings, audience growth, media attention or any other commercial or professional benefit.
Copyright
Original content published under Julie-Anne Writer, Global Music Discovery or Compassion Global Alliance is protected by copyright. Unless otherwise stated, it belongs to me, CGA or another rights holder, as applicable.
You may:
- Share links to public pages
- Save or print content for personal, non-commercial use
- Quote brief extracts from written content with appropriate acknowledgement and, where reasonably possible, a link to the source
Without written permission, you must not otherwise copy, republish, translate, adapt, distribute or commercially use all or a substantial part of the original content.
Music, photographs, videos, logos, artwork and other third-party material remain the property of their respective rights holders and are not covered by these permissions.
Nothing in this section restricts any use permitted by law.
Material Submitted for Publication
If you submit writing, photographs, videos or other material for possible publication, you must confirm that you own the relevant rights or have written permission from the rights holder. Any other permission required for the proposed use must also have been obtained. Evidence may be requested.
Submitting material does not transfer ownership or guarantee that it will appear on the website. Before publication, the permitted uses, any editing and the required credit will be agreed in writing.
Material may be rejected or removed if it is unlawful, misleading, infringes another person’s rights, could put someone at risk or is otherwise unsuitable for the website.
This section does not apply to private information or documents supplied in connection with a CGA request. They are handled under the Privacy Notice and any relevant consent or authorisation.
External Links and Translations
The website may contain links to websites, social-media platforms, videos, payment services or other resources operated by independent providers. Julie-Anne Writer, GMD and CGA do not control their content, availability, security, privacy practices or terms.
Translations may be provided through the website’s automatic translation service or prepared using AI-assisted translation tools. They may contain errors or differences in meaning.
For these Terms and general website content, the English-language version is authoritative if a significant inconsistency arises. This rule does not apply to separately issued bilingual or translated consent forms, authorisations or case-specific communications, which will be interpreted according to the wording provided for that particular purpose.
Website Availability and Security
The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, security concerns or circumstances beyond my control.
I do not guarantee that the website will be error-free or completely secure. You should take reasonable precautions to protect your own device, software and data when using the website.
Privacy and Cookies
Information about how personal information is handled is provided in the Privacy Notice. Information about cookies and similar technologies is provided in the Cookie Policy.
Liability, Changes and Governing Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
These Terms may be revised from time to time. The date at the top of this page will show the latest revision. Revisions take effect when published and apply to use of the website from that point onwards.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This does not affect any mandatory rights you may have, including any right to bring proceedings elsewhere under applicable law.
